WHAT WE DO
Our Philosophy
Our approach to obtaining optimum turf conditioning is to start from the bottom up. If soils are correctly balanced the turf will perform much better and withstand the many stresses that occur throughout the growing season. Taking soil samples will give us insight into issues that need corrected, which will make the plant healthier and more tolerant to heat stress, fungus, insects and weed invasion. Every property is different and we will address each individual client’s need as opposed to selling a blanket application program.
AGRONOMY
The simple definition of Agronomy, in this case, is the study of turfgrass and the soils in which they grow. Thomas Agronomy LLC will work with each client to develop methods that will improve the soil structure and increase the production/quality of each client’s turfgrass. Irrigation use, drainage, comprehensive soil testing, soil fertility, weed/pest control, air movement, and shade tree issues will all be evaluated and addressed to produce the best turf conditions possible.

ABOUT THE OWNER
Jim Thomas
Jim Thomas was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he received his B.S. in Turfgrass Management. Jim has spent 30 years in the golf course industry at both Oakmont Country Club and Deal Golf and Country Club. He is dedicated to bringing the skills he has used to maintain championship golf courses to the residential marketplace. Dedication, attention to detail, and accountability are the foundations Jim has used throughout his career, and he strives to exceed his client’s expectations.
